The Indian pharmaceutical market is the third largest in terms of volume and thirteenth largest in terms of value, as per a report by Equity Master. India is the largest provider of generic drugs. It is expected that, the demand for healthcare in general, particularly lifestyle diseases, coupled with a better standard of living and health awareness, has led to an increase in spending on healthcare and wellness.

The Indian pharmaceutical market size was valued at US$ 33 billion in 2017 & is expected to grow to US $ 100 billion by 2025, driven by increasing consumer spending, rapid urbanization, and raising healthcare insurance among others. In addition, the thrust on rural health programs, lifesaving drugs and preventive vaccines also augurs well for the Pharma sector. Global scenario of health care system is changing due to increasing awareness among the people, boosting the profession of Pharmacy along with medicine. We believe that, demand for quality Pharmacy education is growing and the quality of education offered to Pharmacy graduates needs to be comparable to world class.
